Background:
Born in Raleigh and raised in Lexington, SC, Pastor Joseph serves as our Pastor. He formerly served as student pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in Lowndesville, SC for 3 years. During his tenure the church set its highest attendance records in the church's 165 year history. He has also served as an intern for Outreach North America, staff intern at Dutch Fork Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and Youth Director at Cleveland Park Baptist Church (SBC). He is a graduate of Anderson University and Erskine Theological Seminary. Joseph continues graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in American History.
Pastor Joseph serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Chaplain to our men and women in uniform. He holds the rank of 1st Lieutenant and will soon be attached to the Army Reserve 108th Division.
Joseph is married to Mary Julia Constance Mercer of Athens, GA. Mary Julia is pursuing her M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His wonderful mother and father continue to reside in Lexington, SC. His brother, Michael "Monk" Moore, is a student at Erskine College and pitcher on the Erskine College baseball team. He maintains a close relationship with his remarkable grandmother, Louise Moore, a member of Rowan ARP church in Lugoff, SC.
Pastor Joseph is an ardent South Carolina Gamecocks fan. He is also a rabid fan of Erskine College baseball. His hobbies include: reading, history, college football (watching, not playing!), jogging, and going to Greensboro Grasshoppers' games. He is a terrible golfer.
