Children's Church-Bible Blitz
The kindergarten and first grade group will be studying “Jesus Grows Up” for the month of January.

For 2nd-5th graders - today's topic is “Sometimes We Must Pray Hard”. Bible Basis: Today's Key Verse (Matthew 7:7) contains an    important truth about prayer: persistence.  The New Living Translation in the Hands-On Bible captures a nuance that is sometimes missed in other translations - the sense that one doesn't just “seek” but that we are to “keep on seeking” (emphasis added).  Your students are growing up in a culture that teaches them to quit when the going gets tough - but that's not what the Bible says about prayer.  We are to keep praying when things look tough, and keep on praying when we feel discouraged, and keep on praying even when the situation looks impossible!  As you teach kids about the “hard work” of prayer, you're preparing them to face hard moments in life with a deep-rooted faith.  They'll learn that when the going gets tough, there's just one thing to do:  Go to God!  Bible Focus:  Nehemiah 1:1-2:9.
